I have had a struggle with speaking in front of crowds for as long as I can remember. I have always wanted to sing in the talent show but I am still working up the courage to do so. Sooo I got close to it. I became the MC at my high schools talent show for the two talent shows we hold each year. I was the MC with one other person both times. My school may only be 400 students but when speaking in front of others 4 is a lot to me. The other girl and I came up with dumb jokes to try to make the crowd laugh, as well as tried to connect some funny saying to each person preforming. I truly had fun with planning that and then doing it. Some people did laugh, maybe because they thought it was funny but also maybe as a curtesy, but it was laughter. I liked the experience, yes I am have hesitated when up there but I also overcame the fear of speaking in front of large crowds. This was a huge thing for me to accomplish and I would totally do it again. After this experience I am one step closer to facing my fear of singing in front of a crowd. But I am taking it one step at a time, as should you!

Within my junior year I took a course called Business and Marketing. This course is where we get to learn different skills within marketing and how to form a business plan and more. This course also includes giving tours to anyone who wants to come to my high school and look around. Tours involve the tour guide walking backwards and feeding information to the tourists. This information has to be completely correct and all of the information has to be stated. Confidence is a big aspect to being a tour guide. I lacked the confidence in the beginning but with enough practice I started to talk confidently about the information at hand. As well as no longer becoming red or stuttering when speaking to others. This was a big step for me and took a lot of practice talking in front of others. It could be in front of friends, family, teachers, strangers, etc. But practice definitely helped!
